Message from President of the Pinellas County Urban League Young Professionals:
Greetings,
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the 2023-2025 President of the Pinellas County Urban League Young Professionals. I believe in the power of servant leadership and I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with businesses and community organizations of the Tampa Bay area, with a focus in Pinellas County and nationally through the expansive network of the National Urban League Young Professionals.
I am inspired by the commitment and fortitude of previous Urban League Young Professionals such Whitney M. Young, Martin Luther King, and Shirley Chisholm, who have laid the groundwork to allow myself and others to continue the mission of #TheMovement.
The Pinellas County Urban Leagues Serves under the leadership of the National Urban League President, Marc Morial , the National Urban League Young Professionals, Shalondan Hollingshed, and the Pinellas County Urban League President and CEO, Nikki Gaskin-Capehart.
We operate as a voluntary auxiliary chapter to the Pinellas County Urban League and serve as the premier community organization for developing young professionals in Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area. As we continue to engage young professionals ages 21-45, our goal is to expand our voluntary services in the areas of advocacy and civic engagement, health and wellness, personal and professional development, and mental health.
As an organization, we encourage members to attend annual Urban League conferences to network with other members of the Urban League from chapters across the United States. We continue to provide programming support our national calls to action, such as our National Day of Service to promote STEM careers in education with youth organizations in our local communities. Other campaigns include the YP Fit which encourages Urban League Young Professionals across the United States to increase physical and mental wellness, and the Nation Day of Empowerment which supports minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurship. I look forward to working with current and perspective members.
